Tectonic Blend

  • Story

I hope you enjoy our flagship blend, a blend I have been perfecting since 2010. I think this is a blend for all types of brews, the chocolate and raisin notes give the coffee a interesting sweetness with the tea like notes adding some nice tannings.

I love working with Colombia coffees with coffee being harvested all year around it allows me to bring up fresh green coffee every 4 months to assure freshness. Colombia is known to be one of the most bio diverse origins 2nd only to Ethiopia. The combination of high altitudes and perfect micro climates almost everywhere you travel throughout the country make for a smorgaseboard of coffees to select from.

Ethiopia, what do I say about the birthplace of coffee? I look for coffees for this blend that exhibit a dairy like body to help add viscosity and a pleasing mouthfeel to the blend. That creaminess is perfect for espresso which a lot of our wholesale partners choose to use it for. Plus the Ethiopia coffees stand the test of time and hold their sweetness and floral notes all year round which allows confidence in buying and forecasting.

I have been trying to perfect this blend for 9 years now making tweaks and always buying fresh green every season. So it is always interesting and exciting to see the subtle changes that happen in the cup, which constantly keeps me coming back for me.
