Story
Odo Shakiso is a town located in the Guji Woreda district of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia. It is known for its production of coffee and other agricultural products. The town is located at an altitude of about 2,000 meters above sea level, which is conducive to growing coffee. Odo Shakiso has become an important center of coffee production in Ethiopia, and its coffee is known for its high quality and unique flavor.
There’s an estimated 300 farmers that contribute to the coop. Farmers bring cherry from the surrounding hills down to weighing stations near the town. The farmers are then given a cash amount for their days haul and their names are recorded. Once the coffee has been processed and exported any premiums that come via the sale of the coffee are typically voted on as a collective on how it is going to be spent. Often this money is spent on infrastructure or schooling initiatives.
We hope you love this coffee that is roasted right here in Los Angeles California, please let us know what you think on the socials.
