A Circle of Sustainability - Our Personal Journey with Marisabell and Moises

A Journey Back to 2015

In 2015, a transformative journey to Honduras set the stage for what would become a deeply meaningful relationship with Marisa Bell and Moises Harerra, the dedicated coffee producers behind Finca La Tanairi. As a passionate coffee enthusiast on the brink of starting my own business, I traveled to Xinacla, Honduras, with hopes of discovering exceptional coffee. What I found was far beyond my wildest dreams.

Upon announcing my intention to start my own coffee business, I was met with an unexpected and deeply touching gesture. Marisabell and Moises, with genuine excitement, offered my wife and I a special starting price for their coffee to help our fledgling business. This act of generosity left me in complete shock and awe. Never had I imagined that hard working coffee producers from Central America would extend such a remarkable offer to support a startup business in America. It was an incredibly emotional moment filled with tears and profound gratitude.

True Sustainability: A Two-Way Street

This experience profoundly changed my understanding of sustainability. Often, we think of sustainability as a one-way street—a fair price given to coffee producers at origin. However, in this instance, sustainability came full circle, offering us, the coffee makers, a sustainable price that allowed our business to grow during its crucial early years. This complete circle of sustainability ensured that both the producers and our business thrived.

Sustainability, in its truest sense, is about mutual support and growth. Over the years, our relationship with Marisa Bell and Moises has flourished. We've increased our coffee volumes, and more importantly, we've invested in their community. Our commitment to their success is unwavering, and we've made significant contributions towards upgrading their local schools.

Investing in the Future

The children of Xinacla, whose parents work tirelessly picking coffee cherries, deserve a bright future. Recognizing this, we've contributed funds to build and upgrade school facilities, ensuring that these children have a conducive learning environment. We've painted buildings, built kitchens, and even funded the construction of entire classrooms. These efforts not only enhance the educational experience for the children but also ensure that their parents can work with peace of mind, knowing their children are well cared for and educated.

A Complete Circle of Support

Our journey with Finca La Tanairi exemplifies how sustainability can indeed be a two-way street. The support we received from Marisabell and Moises in our early days has empowered us to give back to their community in meaningful ways. This reciprocal relationship has created a robust foundation for both parties, fostering growth, education, and sustainable practices.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, our commitment to Marisabell, Moises, and their community remains steadfast. We continue to explore new ways to support their efforts and enhance their quality of life. Whether it's through further investments in educational facilities or expanding our coffee volumes, our partnership is a testament to the power of true sustainability.

In conclusion, sustainability is not just about providing fair prices to coffee producers. It's about building lasting relationships that benefit both the producers and the coffee makers. It's about creating a complete circle of support where everyone thrives. Our journey with Finca La Tanairi is a shining example of this principle, and we are proud to share this story with our coffee community.

Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing projects and the exceptional coffees from Finca La Tanairi. Together, we can continue to make a difference, one cup at a time.
